Summary: Assistant Program Director oversees, coordinates, implements and supervises comprehensive services to children, youth and families at MOSAIC Beacon Community Center as specified in DYCD contractual provisions and is responsible for the success of positive and innovate service delivery. The Assistant Program Director supervises the day-to-day activities of the beacon school, After School staff and Beacon Program staff in the absence of the Program Director.
Salary: $21.00 - $23.50 per hour.This is a non-exempt hourly position based on a 35 hour work week.($38,220 - $42,770/annually)
Job Duties:
Supervising all activities that occur at beacon site, i.e.: contracted, sub-contracted, collocated, linkages, SIM and special activities.
Monitoring all beacon activities
Assist with the interviewing and hiring of Beacon staff.
Recruiting volunteers for the beacon.
Take part in program recruitment effects.
Monthly review of staff individual caseloads and files.
Will co-facilitate all of the orientations held here at the beacon.
Liaison between outside groups utilizing the beacon space.
Facilitating weekly staff meetings and co-facilitating the tutors meeting.
Will insure the cleanliness and presence of all of our permanent space here at the beacon.
Maintain DOH documents and requirements.
Organize and monitor the fire drills.
Monitor the incident log and fire drill log.
Monthly Individual meetings with staff.
Will support in all the fundraising projects of the agency related to the beacon and youth development.
Weekly presence at the Youth and Leadership committee meeting.
Monthly participation in the PS 11 cabinet meeting.
Submitting weekly reports on a timely basis.
Informing Program Director of any changes or irregularities.
Liaison between school and custodial staff when Beacon Director is not available.
Monthly participation at the DYCD Beacon Director's meeting when the director is not able to attend.
Attend community and other Beacon related meetings.
Review all monthly and quarterly reports that are prepared by line staff to funding source.
To attend events and meetings that the beacon director cannot attend.
Responsible for the evaluations of all staff at the end of each programmatic semester.
Will host all of the site visits at the beacon.
Overall responsible for the success of positive and innovative service delivery at the beacon.
Other duties may be assigned.
Education:
BA or working towards completion: or AA with comparative experience in field Three (3) years Supervisory experience working with school age youth.
Must meet mandated SACC license requirements.
Good computer, organizational and communication skills.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Work hours during school year are Tuesday to Saturday1:00 PM 9:00 PM (will alternate Saturdays with Program Director from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM). Summer work hours July and August are Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
