Summary
Responsible for providing individual needs assessment and developing short and long-term goals. The Team Leader is also responsible for the overall planning and monitoring of the Youth Council and Participant recruitment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial needs assessment, intake, and orientation of new participants.
- Create short- and long-term goals for participants based on the needs assessment.
- Maintain teen participant folders and applications.
- Develop and implement lesson plans for Youth Council and youth leadership activities and special initiatives.
- Collect participant's report cards to monitor their educational progress and keep track of youth academic life.
- Monitor and track participant attendance and conduct outreach to support retention.
- Assist with the recruitment of teen participants.
- Co-facilitate Parent Meetings
- Responsible for keeping the Program Director and Assistant Director informed of any changes and abnormalities that may occur.
- Submit weekly reports to the Program Director and Assistant Director on time.
- Attend all program staff meetings, trainings, and special events.
- Assist other staff when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary: $18 - $19 per hour or $32,760 or $34,580 annually.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a high school diploma/GED or working towards an AA or BA degree is preferred.
- Two years of Youth Worker experience.
- Experience facilitating workshops and providing one-on-one peer mediation is preferred.
- You have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively with teams.
- You have shown the ability to work with families who face exceptional challenges.
- Excellent social skills that are demonstrative of empathy and support.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time position. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 5 pm-9 pm, some Saturdays.

- Ability and patience to work with children and young people, recognizing their exuberance and juvenile behavior, particularly in group settings.
- Remain stationary, either working at a computer or monitoring activities.
- Move for long periods, providing instruction.
Travel when taking field trips, using public transportation, traversing city streets, ascending/descending stairs, and being exposed to outside weather conditions while escorting youth.
