Summary
Catholic Charities Community Services (CCCS) is seeking a dynamic Manager of Financial Systems to join our dedicated Fiscal Team. This pivotal role reports to the Director of Fiscal Analysis and IT Support and plays a critical part in managing and enhancing our Financial Information Systems architecture. The Manager will oversee the administration of key systems, including ERP (Infor-Lawson), Accounts Payable (Cognizant/MHC), Employee T&E (Chrome River), Budget (Prophix) and management reporting applications (various report writers and databases). The Manager will also actively contribute to special projects for CCCS and its affiliated agencies, while providing leadership and supervision to a team of staff, consultants, and interns to achieve departmental goals.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial system administration for the purpose of enabling the Finance team to successfully meets its fiscal audit and reporting requirements, including the following:

Financial/management reporting enablement

  • Provide oversight and technical support for month-end financial closings and report publications, including elimination entries for the inter-company accounts.
  • Enable/maintain databases and reporting solutions to assure integrity of underlying data for all financial/compliance reporting and planning.
  • Identify and recommend process and solution improvements. Collaborate with Director and Project Manager on facilitation and execution of approved transformation projects.

Budget and Forecast enablement

  • Play a critical role in the Budget team, responsible for the Prophix Personnel system and the development/maintenance of Prophix financial models.
  • Assist with Budget Consolidation and Forecasting tools/models.

Supervision of Staff

  • Collaborate with the Director to establish team goals and objectives.
  • Define and administer specific measures for evaluating staff performance.
  • Schedule and prioritize assignments as required.
  • Train and mentor staff.

Administration & Other

  • Policies and Procedures – Own the policies and procedures related to financial system controls and operating effectiveness.
  • Quality Control & Improvements recommendations for reporting and improving internal accounting / operating controls.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a full-time position with a requirement of 3 days per week in the NYC office and an opportunity to work remotely 2 days per week.
  • Days and hours of work are generally 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday.  Additional weekend and evening hours may be required to meet agency deadlines.
Significant Working Relationships:
  • Financial and Operating management of all entities and agencies of Catholic Charities
  • IT and Data Center staff at Catholic Charities and Archdiocese of New York
Working conditions and physical demands required:
  • Remain in a stationary position at a workstation and use a computer at least 70% of the time.
  • Travel to other sites, drive using vehicle or public transportation, traverse city streets; occasionally ascend/descend stairs, and be exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Carry work papers and a laptop to various locations.
  • Ability to work with demanding, multiple deadlines.
Qualifications
 
Education and/or experience required: 
  • Bachelor’s in Business, Finance or Information Systems
  • 7+ years relevant accounting/finance or information systems experience
Skills, Licenses, and/or competencies required:
  • Financial system/process enablement and administration
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (including non-profit)
  • Knowledge of office software and automated enterprise financial systems, including: 
    • ERP/EPM/CPM and automated Report Writing applications
    • Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI)
    • Excel, MS-Access, SQL, Python, Java, R, CSS or HTM configuration into general ledger, budgeting and reporting systems.
  • Success in the role requires very good interpersonal and communication skills exhibited by the ability to interact with staff, management, and other departments in a professional manner.
  • Work requires ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes, a willingness to work a flexible schedule (including evenings and occasional weekends) and a commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities.
 
Considered A Plus
  • Financial software certifications or certificates
  • Infor (Lawson), including ability to incorporate Excel, MS-Access, SQL solutions.
  • Report writing experience in Crystal, MS-Access and/or Lawson.
  • Budget tool super user/administration (preferably Prophix)
  • Experience in Project Management
